Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what the Chart Guess – Trading Trainer mobile app (“ChartGuessr”, “the app”) and the chartguessr.app website collect, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices and rights you have. By using ChartGuessr you agree to this Policy.
Who we are
ChartGuessr is operated by Roner Reked, Sweden, Göteborg, which is the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at contact@chartguessr.app for any privacy question or request.
What we collect
Usage and device information (all users)
The app records how it is used so we can find where people get stuck and fix it. Each recorded event carries technical context about the device, never its contents:
- Device and app context — device type, manufacturer, model name, operating system name and version, app version and build number, app bundle identifier, and whether the app is running on a simulator.
- Regional settings — your device language and time zone.
- IP address — used by our analytics provider to derive an approximate location (country and region level) and then discarded. We never see or store your precise location.
- In-app activity — app opens and closes, onboarding screens viewed, rounds played and their outcomes, streaks, screens where subscription options were shown or dismissed, and completed purchases.
Before you sign in, this information is tied only to a random identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any advertising identifier.
Account information (only if you sign in)
Signing in is optional — the app is fully playable without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and store:
- Your email address and display name, as provided by Apple or Google. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever receive the relay address.
- Your game record: best streak, best score, total rounds, correct rounds, and per-pattern statistics.
Once you sign in, the usage information above is associated with your account so your progress follows you between devices.
Subscription information
If you buy Chart Guess Pro, our subscription provider records your purchase, plan, renewal status and store transaction identifiers. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your card details, billing address, or full payment records.
Notifications
If you enable practice reminders, streak alerts, or duel notifications, your device issues a push token that we store in order to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, which stops this immediately.

Who processes data for us
We use the following providers. Each acts as a processor on our instructions and is bound by a data processing agreement. We do not authorise any of them to use your information for their own purposes.

Where a provider processes data outside the UK or European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app does not read your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android).
- We do not use your data to target advertising, inside the app or anywhere else.
- We do not record your screen, keystrokes, or the contents of other apps.
If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and ask for your permission first where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Usage and device data — retained for up to 12 months, then deleted automatically.
- Account and game data — retained until you delete your account.
- Subscription records — retained for as long as required by tax and accounting law.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Write to contact@chartguessr.app and we will respond within one month.
Deleting your account. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app, without contacting us, from the account section of the settings screen. This removes your profile and game record permanently and cannot be undone.
Turning off analytics. If you would prefer we stop collecting usage data about your device, email us and we will exclude your identifier.
If you are in the UK or EEA and believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it first.
Children
ChartGuessr is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, where that is higher). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the app changes. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and we will give notice in the app before any change that materially affects your rights takes effect.
